MIRABILE INSECTORUM

Mirabile Insectorum, meaning "Marvelous Insects" in Latin, is a mini zine with the purpose of showing the remarkable qualities of various types of insects. At the bottom of each page, there lies a red, horizontal line which works as a connecting element throughout, but turns into a symbol once death is mentioned. The flow of life is interrupted, until rebirth provides a new hope, and the red line continues. From a moth's pattern imitating a predator, to a butterfly's cycle of life, this piece works with color, pattern, and scale change to paint a picture of marvelous insects. Created in Indesign.
